WAT is actively working in various jails to improve the living conditions of women and juvenile prisoners, we offer rehabilitation opportunities by helping them overcome the trauma of imprisonment and make them respectable members of the society after their release. Our rehabilitation projects are currently under way at the following prisons:
- Central Jail Kot Lakhpat (women ward), Lahore.
- Central Jail Adiala (women/Juvenile ward), Rawalpindi.
- District Jail (women /Juvenile ward), Attock.
- Central Jail (women ward), Peshawar.
- Central Jail (women ward), Karachi
- Central Jail (women ward), Quetta.
Each rehabilitation project has the following components:
- Professional psychological counseling and support for the inmates.
- Character building through religious support and other gatherings.
- Provision of skill development, education and literacy opportunities for income generation.
- Living conditions support in the form of basic hygiene provisions and improvement of jail facilities.
