Through its research program, WAT conducts realistic and analytically sound assessments of contemporary issues concerning women, proposes amendments to bring current laws in conformity with the needs of the times, and facilitates effective implementation of the revised laws. - Comparative study of the Pakistan Penal Code and the Hudood Ordinance 1979 published as a report in Urdu and translated into English, 2004.
- Need assessment survey of women prisoners at 10 jails in the NWFP for the Ministry of Women Development, 2004.
To raise women’s awareness of their rights and obligations at the community level, WAT has also produced booklets and held lectures concerning children’s upbringing, the home as the center of security, and Qur’anic verses and injunctions regarding the welfare of women as well as divorce and ‘khula’.
